Strong winds gave rise to three exciting races at Arden Sailing Club on Sunday Afternoon.

The first race saw confusion on the start line between David Stephen and Ralph Evans following a strong sudden gust allowing the other competitors to get a clean start Led by Trica Wood who made it to the first mark first.  The excitement continued as the gusts played havoc with the fleet although only David Stephen in his new Super Nova capsized (albeit he managed a dry capsize”)  and only one of the six competitors retired.  The race was won by Stuart and daughter Caroline Stephen in one of the Clubs new training GP14’s followed closely by Tricia Wood in her comet and then Ralph Evans in his Solo.

The Second and third race’s were more exciting as the wind continued to build.  David managed to Keep his Super Nova’s mast pointing at the sky and crossed the line well ahead of Stuart and Caroline still in the Club GP14 and won the race.

The third race was won by Ralph Evans (Solo) followed by Tricia Wood (Comet)
