Sutton Colts beat Stourbridge on Sunday to take 2nd place in the League outright. Sutton started with a flourish with two tries through Harry Moxon and making his first start this season, Charlie Steventon. Both tries went unconverted and the rest of the first half saw some great build up play by Sutton only to be thwarted by poor finishing. Sutons defence was rarely breached throughout the game with some hard hits coming in from both forwards and backs, regularly preventing Stourbridges attack from being effective. Half Time score remained at 10-0.
The second half started well for Sutton with Charles Snow and Daniel Carruthers crossing in quick succession following some impressive phases of play. Both tries were converted by surprise kicker for the day Harry Moxon. Man of the match Jonah Faulkner was the next on the score sheet making the score 29-0. Stourbridge upped their game and were rewarded with two tries, one converted after a period of sustained pressure. It was Sutton who were to have the last word with Jonah Faulkner scoring again, rounding off another fine win for the men in green. Final score 34-12

The women’s team entertained Warley under the floodlights on the International pitch and enjoyed a good crowd despite the chill in the air.

The game was a little one sided with Sutton coming out on top 54-7 in the winters evening encounter.

The women’s team are growing well and are always on the look out for new players to come and join them. Coaching is on hand so everyone is welcome regardless of their rugby back ground or experience.
