Birmingham Wheels oval on Saturday evening saw the start of the JASCAR season with round 1 of the All Stars Championship and the first of the I Factor rounds. All the cars were fantastically turned out,  new Power Maxed UK  colours for Olly Turner #22 for 2016 thanks to the support and work from Chris Wareing, Bristol. Putting 2015 behind him will a full winter of preparation, Olly was confident in his car and himself.

The first heat was going very well for Turner moving to the lead early on  but with two laps to go, an incident whilst passing another driver caused Turner to spin out and unable to get enough turning circle to rejoin the race and finish.

The second heat Turner experienced similar bad luck whilst running the lead again into the last corner, a move from reigning champion 88 caused them both to spin, 88 finished second, but Turner who took some damaged in the incident finished back in third.

Although very disappointed with the heat results Olly was still aiming for a good outcome. The team got the car back on the grid for the final which saw packed grandstands by the evening to watch a very full schedule of racing.

A steady start in pole from Olly allowed 88 to move ahead into the first corners which played to his advantage as he was able to see a mistake from 88 who surprisingly spun. Turner able to quickly manoeuvre around with 62 in hot pursuit took advantage of the mistake. The 12 lap race was between 22 and 62 and testament to both drivers they put on a great display of fast, close racing for the crowd pushing each other with Olly Turner Racing and the Auto Enginuity car finally triumphant taking a well deserved win.

The next JASCAR racing will be at Swaffham Raceway in two weeks for a double header at the Speed Weekend and racing in the Morris Oils supported Junior Hotrod will commence too after a successful debut at The Rolling Thunder Show, Arena Essex back in January finishing 7th in the final out 22 drivers who started the day.
