Last Sunday an understrength Evesham squad travelled to Barkers Butt's RUFC for the latest tournament of the season.

Despite missing key players and playing with only five in the sevens tournament the girls did remarkably well and came away with two valuable league points for forth position and a trophy for winning the bowl final.

They played a total of four games beating Bakers Butt's A and B and Shipston in the bowl final. In their opening group games they fell to a narrow five tries to three defeat to Old Salts which meant they could not compete for a top three spot.

Although this was a dissapointment all of the girls produced outstanding performances with Georgia Evans and Emily Wright combining to produce some of their finest rugby.

This week end the girls travel to Old Salts for the next round of the season and they will hopefully be back to near full strength.

Any girls under 18 who would like to come along to a taster session on a Wednesday night should come along to the Albert Road ground for 6 pm or contact Alan Brown on 01386 830074
