A close game was expected at this re match and that is what we got. Until the last 4 mins the score was 10-12 to Broadstreet.

Tries-

Harvey Joy

Ben Chant

For the first 15 mins Kenilworth were not in the game. It was played entirely in the Kenilworth half, apart from the initial Kick Off. Almost inevitably, Broadstreet scored under the posts Nil-7. 12 Mins.

Kenilworth then started to get back in the game, but at crucial moments, nerves took over and passes were missed or knocked on. It was not until the 31st min that Kenilworth started a move, just in their own half, that created space for Callum on the wing. He beat his man to take play all the way up to the try line, but was held up short. The next player took the ball over the line, but frantic Street defence held him up. Scrum 5.

Kenilworth, absolutely solid in the scum all game, sent Hugh off down the blind side. Out to Harvey and over. TRY 7-5   35mins.

With no time left on the clock Broadstreet scored from yet another Kenilworth mistake at the KO, just before half time in the corner. 5-12 to the Street.

Kenilworth came out better in the second half and started to get hold of more possession . A penalty by Broadstreet at half way, was well kicked to the corner, with the wind now favouring the Kens. The rolling maul was stopped before the Streets line, but was taken over to score. HELD UP. 5 yard scrum to Kenilworth.  Once again the Kenilworth scrum, probably the most consistent of our set piece controlled well, to enable Ben Chant to go over and score in the corner.10-12    7mins 2nd half.

For the next 27 mins there was no score. It was tense affair with both side trying desperately not to make mistakes or miss a tackle. However, it has to be said that most of the game was in the Kenilworth half and some great kicking by Broadstreet pinned us there.

In the last 3 mins as Kenilworth tried to clear from their 22 instead of running the ball. It was picked up by the Broadstreet centre, who beat 2 men to score in the corner. Game Over. No conversion. 10-17. Broadstreet go through.

Congratulations to Broadstreet, the better team on the day. It also has to be said that the standard of the game was high and conduct of both teams impeccable.
