Former Moseley centre Andy Watson-Jones has been elected president of Shropshire for the next two years.
Watson-Jones started and finished his playing career at Newport and he also played county rugby for Shropshire and North Midlands during a distinguished career.
His uncle, Brian Watson-Jones, was the first captain of Shropshire in 1959 and Andy captained Shropshire in 1984 during the county’s 25th anniversary year.
Watson-Jones, who succeeds Gordon Wood as Shropshire’s president, has served Newport in numerous administrative roles including chairman and president since he retired from playing.
