WEDNESBURY have been deducted 30 league points fielding two unregistered players in their Midlands Three West (North) match against Uttoxeter on November 23.

The penalty, imposed by the Midlands Leagues Organising Committee, will see 15 points deducted immediately with the balance suspended until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Wednesbury admitted playing two unregistered players and of providing a falsified match card which aggravated the original offence.

“It is important to note that the original offence of playing two unregistered players would only have attracted a five point penalty. In its efforts to cover up the offence, Wednesbury made matters much worse and would have attracted an even more severe penalty had they not eventually made a full admission of the offence,” said Paul Kaminski, the MLOC chairman.
