Wellesbourne ladies travelled to Cannock for the last tournament of the season on Sunday.

Their tournament results sadly didn't reflect their hard work and commitment and some vital decisions went against them on the day.  Several tries were disallowed on the line and Wellesbourne fought back hard against their disappointment.  On a very positive note the ladies finished 5th in the North Midlands touch league and were the highest placed Warwickshire club.

Along with their tournament success in their first season the ladies have also been nominated for a Sports award and attended the presentation ceremony back in January at Stratford Manor.  Although the award went to a more established sport the ladies were thrilled that their endeavours had been recognised.

Also this year the ladies were runners up in the rfu girl power awards and were presented at the Warwickshire county dinner with a beautiful glass plaque and are  being recognised by the Rfu in a twickenham case study.

The ladies next travel to Sutton Coldfield for a rearranged friendly tournament on 6th October.

Players are always welcome to join us at training at the Home Guard Club, Tiddington on a Thursday evening at 7pm.   Minimum age for playing touch rugby is 13 and its a great way to make new friends and get a bit fitter.
