Wellebourne entertained Keresley on saturday and finally got their first league win of the season.

Keresley started well and using their big pack took on Bourne but it was the latter who started better, but from a dropped pass in midfield Keresley were quick

to move the ball out to their sppedy winger who went over in the corner. From then on though it was Bourne all the way as first the pack were massive in defence with Turner,Burford and Dyer all making big hits on the larger Keresley fowards. This allowed the back row of Aston,Thomas and James to get Bourne on the front foot by using their pace in the open spaces.First from a scrum it was Mark Aston who picked up and released Joe Aston to score. Then a move by the backs with Rooney at fly half releasing Thomas with a neat pass he made ground before releasing Shutt who was tacled short.Aston was on hand again to pop the ball to Sam James who went over.Bourne were now in their stride and from a scrum inside their half Joe Aston again released brother Mark up the line he moved the ball on to Chris Thomas who's neat inside pass gave man of the match Chris Aston space to scorch down the line, but he was held up short but the arrival of the Thomas brothers and the pack made sure he made the line to score. With Rooney scoring two conversions Bourne were

in a strong position just before half time. But with the last move of the half keresley managed to turn over Bourne ball and release their centre to gallop in fro 40 yds.Half time 19-10.Second half started and Keresley again went back to their game plan of using their big fowards to gain ground but Bourne were up for it and after a 10 minuite spell of Keresley pressure a big tackle by Stu Hall and Keresley were penalised for holding on,,Aston releived the pressure. From the lineout on halfway a big hit by Adey Dance knockedthe ball loose and Sam James gathered the ball to gallop in fro half way Rooney converting,But keresley were not finished  and some indiscipline by the home forwards gave Keresley the chance to release their big centre who went over. But it was Bourne who finished strongest and in the last couple of minuites another move by the backs set up a ruck and keresley were penalised for offside.Rooney stepped up and put the game beyond doubt with a three pointer.Final Score Wellesbourne 29 - 17  Keresley. This week Bourne are at home to League leaders Rugby Lions.
