YOUNGSTERS from West Bridgford raised £2,000 towards the cost of clubhouse developments with a bag packing day at their local Morrisons supermarket.

Coaches and parents joined 125 boys and girls from across West Bridgford’s age group teams for a busy day helping out shoppers at 24 checkouts.

The money will go towards West Bridgford’s Raise the Roof campaign which aims to raise £250,000 for a new roof, female changing rooms and new toilets at the Nottinghamshire club’s  Stamford Road ground.

West Bridgford have now raised around £20,000 from fund-raising activities like the bag packing day and have also attracted £41,000 in funding from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Olympic Legacy Fund.
