WOLVERHAMPTON lifted the National Under 17 Cup with a hard-earned 7-3 win over Sevenoaks in today’s final at the AJ Bell Stadium, home of Aviva Premiership club Sale Sharks.

All the points were scored in the first half with Wolverhampton recovering from going 3-0 down to an early Sevenoaks penalty.

Centre Marinus Augostine scored the only try of the final with fly-half Tom Jones adding the conversion.

Amersham & Chiltern won the National Under 17 Plate by beating Driffield 22-0 in their final.

The National Under 17 Bowl went to Crediton who beat Market Bosworth from Leicestershire 48-7 in the second match on finals day.

The closest of the day’s four finals came in the opener in which Blaydon beat Darfordians in a kicking contest after the sides were level 21-21.
