Worcester Wolves have bolstered the squad with the signing of Lithuanian shooting guard, Robertas Bitinas.

After a race against time, Wolves managed to beat the end-of-season transfer deadline to sign the 30 year-old on Friday.

The 6ft guard, who has experience playing in the Spanish leagues and will top Lithuanian club Neptunas, will provide cover in an area in which Wolves have few alternative options, following the injury picked up by Disraeli Lufadeju.

Wolves Head Coach, Paul James, said: "We are conscious of the fact that we have lacked depth in certain areas within the team and bringing Robertas in will give us not only a shooting threat, but also a wealth of extensive experience.

“Clearly, once again it has been helpful to have great links in Lithuania in terms of identifying this player, but special credit has to go to our administrators, who excelled during such a short period of time to make this happen.

“We managed to prepare all of the relevant paperwork and have everything in place with 30 minutes to spare, late on Friday afternoon."

Robertas will be joining his new team mates for training this week and should be making his BBL debut against the Plymouth Raiders at the University of Worcester Arena this Friday at 7.30pm
